Localised ceasefire takes effect in Oleshky, with Russia halting strikes on Kherson

A localised ceasefire secured by US First Lady Melania Trump took effect, with Russia halting strikes on Kherson to allow evacuations and aid deliveries to Oleshky. On Monday, UN-mandated investigators said Russian authorities committed war crimes and crimes against humanity by attacking civilians and vital energy infrastructure. Russia had said on Monday it would open a humanitarian corridor to the occupied town, where residents are trapped by minefields, shelling and drones.
