Common questions

• Where does the news come from? Public news feeds, USGS earthquakes and GDACS hazard alerts, sorted, placed on the map and summarised by Claude (Anthropic). Each event lists the reports it came from.
• Alerts: turn on Major events anywhere in Settings, or Alert me about this situation on any situation. You get at most one alert every ten minutes, except for critical (impact 5) events.
• Discussions: join with your email to post. Long-press a post (right-click on a Mac) to report it or block its author. The community rules explain how moderation works.
• Deleting your account: in the app, Settings › Delete my account. It removes your email address, display name, posts and daily brief subscription.
