Russian drone strike on Dnipro train station kills at least 13

A Russian drone hit a busy platform at a railway station in Dnipro on Thursday, killing at least 13 people. President Zelensky called the attack horrific and said it demands a response from Ukraine's allies. It came during a rare localized ceasefire around the Russian-occupied town of Oleshky, which has now extended across the Kherson region. Russia also says it launched more than 600 drones toward Moscow overnight.

  • A Ukrainian official said aid will enter Oleshky on Friday as the truce entered a third day and military units cleared landmines.
  • On Tuesday Zelensky said Russia launched 16 ballistic missiles and more than 280 drones, with at least 15 injured in Kyiv, and strikes hit a major bridge in the capital.
  • The leaders of Norway and Finland held a call with Putin on Tuesday, the first direct contact between European leaders and Putin in more than a year.
  • The US is considering lifting sanctions on Russia's flagship investment fund.
