Russian bombs kill 18 at aid centre in southern Ukraine as Kherson truce ends

On Monday Kyiv said at least nine 3,000kg Russian aerial bombs hit a village in southern Ukraine, killing 18 people at an aid centre, and local officials say 27 people are missing. Fighting returned to the Kherson region after the six-day truce, described as the longest of the war, ended on Sunday evening. Ukraine and Russia each reported a hack of their alert apps and traded blame. Western officials say European troops will rehearse a possible deployment to Ukraine if peace is reached.
